At this stage, we do not make flip flops that are of different width, however, it is very rare that we cannot fit the thongs to someones feet, no matter how wide or narrow they are.
If the flip flops are feeling a little narrow or tight, this can normally be worked out quite easily.
There are 3 things to consider with regards to the width of Archies Flip Flops:
1. The actual width of the flip flops:
In terms of width, Archies Flip Flops are designed to be a reasonably narrow fitting flip flop. The outside edge of the foot hangs over the edge to some extent in most people, so please do not be concerned if this is the case for you, as this is the normal fit for Archies Flip Flops (Please see the below image). Even in the case that you have a bunion that overhangs, this is ok, the most important thing is that the flip flop is comfortable and the orthotic sits in the correct position on the foot.
Please see the image below of completely acceptable overhang.
2. The tightness of the strap:
Archies Flip Flops are designed with a tighter strap than normal flip flops. This can lead to the perception that the flip flops are too narrow and tight when it is simply the strap being too tight for your foot width. The good news is, while a tight strap is important for normal foot function, if the strap feels too tight, it is very, very easy to instantly fix this problem by stretching the strap until it reaches your desired level of tightness!
3. Is the size in terms of length okay?
If the flip flops are feeling a little too narrow, providing that you have the capacity to do so without the thongs becoming to big, often going up a size can help, as the thongs get bigger, there will be a corresponding increase in width.
