Are Archies Flip Flops and Slides hard or soft?Updated 4 days ago
Most people put on their Archies Footwear and find them instantly comfortable! However for some people, it may feel a little firm, however after a few wears the footbed will mould to the shape of your foot making it even more comfortable, and you will find it will soften. This doesn't take long at all.
If they do feel a little firm we suggest giving them a little 'wear-in time'. Wearing your Archies Flip Flops and Slides for 20 minutes at a time for two weeks or so and they will feel super comfy!
We also have a heat moulding technique we can suggest if they are still too firm after you have worn them a few times.
What is the heat mould technique?
Archies Flip Flops and Slides are made from a special form of foam that responds to heat. When heated, the material will become soft and mouldable, so heating them and then standing on them will customize the footbed to your feet. If the strap and toe pole and/or the band are feeling tight, we also recommend stretching them while the material is warm.
How to heat mould your Archies Flip Flops and Slides
1. Place the pair on a flat surface - make sure there is nothing flammable in the vicinity.
2. Position the hair dryer 3cm away from the band or straps.
3. Turn on the hair dryer and heat up the band for 45 seconds. You can move it slowly across the band or straps so the heat distributes evenly. Make sure that it's not too close to the band or straps so that it doesn't cause it to wilt or wither.
3. Stretch the band or straps if it's feeling too tight
4. Put the pair on and stand on one foot and then the other - this will mould the footbed to your feet
You can repeat this as many times as necessary until the footwear has moulded perfectly to your feet.
